Do Right
The Alliance for Climate Protection today released a new national television ad, Do Right, encouraging Americans to support the path away from foreign oil and toward clean energy now.
Every president since Richard Nixon has called for an energy policy less reliant on foreign sources. Now, the ad says, is the best time for us to act to ensure our country develops clean energy sources that protect our planet and helps our national security and creates– jobs when the country is in need of a sustainable economic recovery.

Renewable energy at Manchester City
Premiership football club Manchester City will soon have the world’s first stadium powered by renewable energy. They’re in the process of installing a 120m high 3MW turbine which will meet all their energy needs and allow them to sell electricity back to the grid.

AeroTurbine – Becker’s Darrieus and Savonius Combination
This turbine designed by Bil Becker of University of Illinois. It has a design that is suitable for urban settings – caged, small size and low noise, albeit not very efficient, but very desirable to get you partially off the grid.

Dulas, based in mid-Wales, is a 25-year-old employee-owned business. Its work includes include micro-hydro (design and installation); wood-fired heating (design, installation and management) and wind (monitoring and environmental impact assessment, as well as installation of small systems). In solar energy, Dulas installs PV systems in the UK and provides wholesale supplies to other installers, and also supplies about three quarters of the world demand for PV-powered vaccine refrigerators, to organisations such as the WHO and UNICEF.
